7 examples, also and especially in times of fake news
Nothing is as it seems
The name says it all
Five years ago, when we discussed the idea of publishing a newsletter that would deliver an inspiring idea every week, the name was quickly found: GloriousMe.
While Glorious is easy to explain – from travel, art and talent to craftsmanship as a luxury – the question always arises: What does the Me stand for?
Very simple and yet often difficult in everyday life: to reflect on what is good for you and to treat yourself to some time out. MeTime.
Taking your eyes off the screen and onto the forest, not always sacrificing yoga in the morning to an early start at your desk and taking a deep breath during your lunch break instead of quickly making a few more transfers.
A gentle reminder of which seven Me topics are particularly important at the moment:
7 reminders to think about yourself
1st sun salutation in the morning
Just a few exercises on the yoga mat in the morning help to open the eyes, stretch the muscles and stretch the back. A candle or a soft light replaces the missing sun in the dark.
The day starts differently straight away.
2. fresh breeze instead of canteen
A quick walk in the fresh air clears your head. Even if the weather doesn’t always look too appealing, it’s good to get out of the house: For a run through the rain, a walk in the park or simply a brisk walk along the nearest avenue and back.
3. museum instead of social media
You can find good museums everywhere. A visit is only worthwhile for a few favorite pictures. Rushing through an exhibition and taking photos of it makes no sense. Taking your time to immerse yourself in just one picture is wellness for the mind and soul
4. say no
At the end of the year, most people are faced with far too many tasks from many sides. It’s time to say no and prioritize yourself.
5. music
The bad news is piling up at a rate that would drive any emphatic person to despair. This is precisely why it is important to draw strength in order to be able to resist.
Music is the best way to replenish your reserves. The effect is greatest when playing music together, but even headphones with your favorite music allow you to breathe a sigh of relief and let your soul swing again.
6. say yes
For meeting up with friends and spending relaxing hours together.
7. Candles. Candles. And even more candles.
At any time of day or night. A single candle or a sea of candles. Pamper yourself. YOU deserve it.
Me means Us
There is a golden rule at GloriousMe. Everything we write about, we have experienced ourselves. Everything we recommend, we are convinced of ourselves.
This is by no means a matter of course. Much of the well-meaning information served up by the wellness industry is driven by lucrative advertising contracts or, in the worst case, fake news.
It gets dangerous here
Claiming that you have been eating a grapefruit every morning for 30 years may not do much harm. The development of other fake news, on the other hand, is something we view with great concern, especially on this day, which commemorates the victims of the progrom night of November 9, 1938.
Fake news and its spread via social media in combination with a lack of understanding of history and political contexts are extremely dangerous.
We stand with Israel.
