Optimistic blue instead of sad gray
Next November is sure to come and with it fog, wet weather and lots of gray. GloriousMe’s top tips for a sunny November.
Travel in November
Flexible home office arrangements and good internet connections, even in remote locations, have made an extended vacation in November possible for many.
In many parts of Europe, grey becomes the dominant color in November. The sun rarely makes an appearance. Cold rain and strong winds are the order of the day. The days seem short and the next cold is just around the corner.
Some people love this time of year, others find it sad. A vacation or a working stay in a moderate climate with more light and sun and temperatures that allow light clothing instead of layers of wool is good for body and soul.
As November is not a typical travel month, many destinations are in low season. This means that hotels can be enjoyed at lower rates with more space, you have the sports facilities almost to yourself and there is plenty of space on the beach or by the pool.
Once back, the unavoidable stress of the pre-Christmas period is much easier to bear and January, when the days get longer again, is not far away.
The 5 GloriousMe destinations
November can also be enjoyed in some European destinations, as Portugal and Sardinia, for example, also have bright days in November. However, the few hotels that are open are usually overbooked, while most beach bars are closed until the following spring. A certain melancholy hangs over many places and the closed souvenir stores seem even more dreary than in summer.
Our recommendations are therefore on other continents. This has the great advantage that you experience the energy, future orientation and different living conditions that make many things seem small and insignificant when you return. You could also call it a healthy distance.
November in Indonesia
The rainy season in Indonesia actually begins in November. The country stretches over 17,000 named islands over a wide area. The start of the rainy season therefore varies greatly from region to region. Climate change has also meant that the rains start later, often in December.
It is quite possible that you will hardly experience any rain in Indonesia in November, and if you do, then the usually short tropical showers are an impressive experience, which makes the landscape a joy to behold with fresh greenery.

Jakarta, including the surrounding area, has around 40 million inhabitants. The traffic and pollution problems are correspondingly large. Nevertheless, it is enlightening to experience such a mega-metropolis for yourself. When the traffic is not at a standstill, it flows over six-lane roads with swarm-like serenity.
What can you do without?
The island of Bali, victim of its own tourist success. More and more hotels, more and more tourists, more and more people seeking the former magic of the island and its culture in large numbers.
November in Sri Lanka
The island in the Indian Ocean is a dwarf compared to the giant Indonesia and is divided into two climatic zones. While monsoon-like rain showers in the north-east can lead to flooding in November, the climate in other parts of the country is pleasantly warm but not hot.

November in Thailand
The ideal travel season starts in November and ends in April. It is therefore a good idea to travel to the country before the popular Christmas and New Year holidays. During this time, you can experience the country as it authentically celebrates its festivities. In November, you can experience the ‘Water Lantern Festival’ and ‘The Sky Lantern Festival’ without additional tourist entertainment.

November in Japan
The average temperatures in Japan this month are between 7-27 degrees Celsius. So you can experience everything: bright blue autumn days with leaves in the most beautiful colors in a warm coat or the warmer regions in a T-shirt.
Japan has become one of the world’s most sought-after tourist destinations, especially in recent years. No wonder, because nowhere else can you find so much culture and culinary delights to discover in such a small and excellently organized space. Everything speaks for Japan and Tokyo is worth a visit at any time of year.
You can combine Tokyo in November with the more southerly islands such as Kyushu and Yaeyama and then conclude the trip in Korea. You can hardly do more Asia and get to know the lesser-known regions.
