Whether cigars, jewelry, tea or memorabilia. Off to the box.
What is valuable to us, we like to protect with a box.
Treasure Chests
Pirates collected their booty in a treasure chest. Those who love their jewelry like to place their favourite pieces on flattering soft velvet in a jewelry box.
For some of our readers, the best moment after a long day in nature or in another jungle is when the humidor opens in the evening and a cigar stored in the perfect climate promises relaxation and enjoyment.
The walls of the tea room in the legendary Takashimaya department store on 5th Avenue in New York were painted a silvery metallic color. One had so the impression to sit in the middle of a tea box. The right atmosphere to enjoy excellent tea and Japanese snacks.
Protection and decoration at the same time
The box protects what is dear to us and at the same time makes the contents more valuable.
The jewelry box with dark red velvet, which grandmothers loved to take out of the closet, has a renaissance. However, the velvet today is more lemon yellow, light blue or fern green.
A wonderful presentation for valuables and at the same time protection for the jewelry, at least that which is worn daily and has not cost a fortune. The latter belongs in the safe or in the safe deposit box.
Love letters definitely need a beautiful box.
Spring Cleaning
The smart Luke Edward Hall, whose agony box in the Financial Times on interior design issues is always worth reading, says of himself that he loves order and likes to use boxes for it.
The boxes can be filled to the brim, but there should only ever be one type of item in them. A wild mixture in a box is an abomination to him.
We know exactly what he means. It saves an enormous amount of time once you have managed to establish the division of various small parts into boxes.
We already have a few transparent boxes from Muji ready for the next rainy weekend.
Collection
Throw away a beautiful box? Difficult for us, even if the box collection has already taken on considerable proportions in the meantime at GloriousMe.
We always find a secondary use and at times we are delighted to lift the lid of a box and find items inside that we thought we had lost.
Tea boxes would also be much too good to throw away. Once the tea is drunk in it, the lemongrass tea from the GloriousMe Shop can be wonderfully filled in there.
Acting Box
In the Box, theaters like to show experimental performances or plays that, for other reasons, benefit from the small, intimate setting.
The opposite of this is the box or drawer that others want to sort us into. We are all allergic to that. Everyone sees themselves as an individualist and wants to be perceived as such.
