Since last week at the latest, the falling temperatures have left us with no other choice: out with the summer clothes and in with the fall and winter clothes. We hope with you that all the beautiful jackets, skirts and coats made of wool or even cashmere have survived the summer break well.
Trust is good, control is better: it is worth inspecting every item of clothing and brushing it with a clothes brush. Humid air can get into every wardrobe, more or less depending on the climate. Good clothes love good brushes
When brushing textiles, you first brush against the grain and thus against the direction of weaving and then with the grain. The aim of brushing is to gently remove dust in particular, but also all other particles such as lint or powdery stains.
Dust is practically everywhere and good suits, costumes, pants and dresses literally attract dust.
The right clothes brush is important here. Ideally, it should have two sides, one side with soft bristles and one side with harder bristles. Or you can simply use two brushes. Natural bristles have a clear advantage. The bristles should get into the small pores of the fabric, but not destroy it. A sure instinct is called for.

If there is still a so-called lint roller in your household: Good-bye, never to be seen again. The surface of these rollers are slightly sticky to pick up lint, but leave particles of the adhesive on your clothes, which then eagerly pick up even more dust.
Tangible and visible
You can really feel how good it is for your clothes to be lightly brushed before and after wearing them. Many stains can be easily removed this way. If dusty stains cannot be removed with a dry brush, simply hold your hand under water and lightly moisten the surface of the brush to remove the stain.
Well-kept and brushed clothes need to be dry-cleaned less often and stay beautiful for longer. Every butler knew this and brushing clothes was one of the most important tasks of every butler.
