Lifeblood instead of code
Some modern influencers are pure AI creatures. Our inspiration doesn’t come from program code, but from our everyday lives and our travels
Aitana López, Lil Miquela, Laila or GloriousMe?
The first three women are creations of artificial intelligence and extremely successful influencers. The avatars were programmed on the basis of insights into which hair color, eye color, hairstyle, figure, clothing and lifestyle have the highest chances of successfully selling products and services on social media.
Many brands are prepared to pay princely fees to have their products recommended by these AI models and inspire purchases. The cost/benefit ratio is convincing for any controller. The fashion brand H&M reports that the use of the avatar Kuki in a social media ad reached 11 percent more people, with a simultaneous cost reduction of 91 percent.(Financial Times December 30, 2023).
Far lower fees, no products that have to be provided free of charge, no travel expenses and hotel stays. And no risks, such as the charge of fraud against the highly successful Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni, who advertised traditional Italian cakes during the Christmas season and pretended to donate part of the proceeds to the children’s cancer ward of a clinic in Milan. However, nothing arrived there.
Do readers like to be fooled?
With some artificial creations, the hashtag #aimodel indicates that it is a fake personality. However, this information is voluntary and is only used in some cases.
However, if you follow the alleged personalities over a longer period of time, you might notice that no real blood flows through their veins. If you want to notice it.
With heart and soul
Anyone who reads GloriousMe will notice that our articles are written with a lot of passion. We enjoy sharing our discoveries and experiences and reporting on both positive and negative experiences.
We are happy to support brands and people of whom we are convinced and are delighted when we are also recommended out of conviction.
We draw our inspiration from our everyday professional and private lives as well as from our travels.
GloriousMe On Tour
What has inspired us on our travels and inspired us to write articles and what we think could be done better:
Architecture Biennale: The Laboratory of the Future
Our favorite city, Venice, has already inspired many GloriousMe articles. Rediscovered on this trip: the Fondation Prada Venice.
And while we usually like to look around at the art biennale, this time it was the architecture biennale that provided plenty of inspiration.
Good coaches count
In the Netherlands, we are inspired by the irresistible mix of history and modernity, which can be seen in the architecture and restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants: T’Raedthuys in Duiven. Ideally located halfway to the sea.
The right coach on a sailing boat (and everywhere else) is worth its weight in gold.
When it’s pouring with rain for days on end, good quality sportswear will keep you in a good mood.
Highlight Japan
It’s worth surprising even the best guides. How else would they know that you not only appreciate the spa in a top hotel but would also like to get to know the local bathhouse?
A Japanese breakfast with 10 dishes is ten times lighter than the usual European breakfast with cheese, sausage and jam. Unfortunately, it also takes ten times as long in the kitchen.
Outstanding performance in rail passenger transport in terms of punctuality, comfort, cleanliness and ambience is possible.
Even after a long and intensive trip, we couldn’t find a fault in Japan. If you would like to read again why it is worth traveling to Japan now, you can do so here.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained
A sailing team in Glücksburg in the summer, made up of people who would never have met in life, makes success possible for everyone, precisely because everyone brings different skills to the table.
A hotel owner who can’t smile shouldn’t open a hotel.
Highlight Hospitality
Hospitality, as we experienced during our stopover just before the Alpine pass on the way back from Liguria, is infinitely good: a small hostellerie in the Aosta Valley. The Hotel Quinson has just six rooms, furnished by a local carpenter with wonderful wooden fittings and serves the finest Italian food in the evening. A family-run hotel that understands and lives hospitality. You can experience it in every detail, such as the home-baked bread.
Ingredients from Asia. Mindfulness in everyday life
Asian cuisine, paradisiacal nature and sport under palm trees are the ideal combination to recharge your batteries and continue your healthy lifestyle with soups, juices and yoga after your trip through Thailand. In line with our motto: Get to the juicer.
Capital city inspirations
The exhibition 75/75 by Isa Genzken at the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin: pure inspiration. The food by Victoria Elíasdóttir: an experience.
Autumnal place of power with radioactivity
The sometimes overused word “place of power” takes on new meaning when you feel like Emperor Franz Josef as you take your first breath on the hotel balcony in Bad Gastein. Is this due to the 43 radon springs in the village?
How nice to enjoy a small but sophisticated wine list whose wines come exclusively from the host country Austria.
You should only buy clothes on vacation – you not only buy the garment but also carry the most beautiful memories.
And 2024?
The year 2024 is still a long way off and we don’t yet know the destinations where we will be exploring new things. But we are not worried:
“The true journey of discovery is not to explore new landscapes, but to see old ones with new eyes”
Marcel Proust
