PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR EYES

Pamper your eyes in spring

Finally more light and more green again. This and much more can be a treat for the eyes. As a GloriousMe reader, you won’t forget your sunglasses.

For your eyes only

Almost every pleasure is associated with visual impressions: A meal beautifully presented on a plate or the costumes of an opera.

Eye health is a valuable asset. Nevertheless, we usually give our eyes too little attention. Spring is the best time to change this.

It doesn’t take much effort. And because we want you to get as many spring impressions as possible, here are seven tips that everyone can invest in eye health seven days a week.

1 Stairs instead of a smartphone

Our everyday lives mean that we spend many hours staring instead of looking: At the computer screen. On the windshield. On the tablet. Once we have completed an extensive task on the computer, for example, the next thing we look at is usually our smartphone.

Leave it there.

Take the stairs or the elevator if your office is on the 17th floor and treat yourself and your eyes to a few minutes of fresh air and a different perspective: a view into the distance.

A small but important training for our eyes, which in earlier times continuously scanned the horizon for huntable game.

2 Upwards

Movement is extremely important for every bodily function, but also for the eyes. So if it’s not the 17th floor you started from, but the third floor, take the stairs back to your desk.

Ideally, you should have already rolled out your yoga mat or put on your running shoes early in the morning. Every meter, every movement helps.

3 Green fodder

We belong to the minority who love Brussels sprouts and savoy cabbage. For everyone else, there is now an ever-increasing selection of vegetables, salads, etc. from week to week. No limits.

4 Fish

In particular, sea fish varieties with a high omega-3 acid content should be on the menu as often as possible.

5 eyes closed

Sufficient sleep also helps the eyes to regenerate. But there is also a simple remedy that is good for the eyes during the day: rub your hands together to generate warmth. Close your eyes and place your palms over them. Lower your head and close your eyes for 10 seconds. relax.

Works almost always and almost everywhere.

6 Clockwise and counterclockwise

We all know this exercise from our visit to the ophthalmologist. First roll your eyes clockwise and anti-clockwise from the far right. Then do the exercise in an anti-clockwise direction. This exercise is so good that you will probably want to do it several times in a row.

7 With fountain pen or pencil

The fountain pen lies rather decoratively on the desk between the big events of life. Pick up the fountain pen (a pencil will do just as well, of course), stretch out your hand and fix your gaze on the tip of the pen.

Bring the pen towards you and follow the tip of the pen with your eyes. Ideally 20 repetitions. Afterwards, you will voluntarily close your eyes to recover.

And that brings us back to tip no. 1: put down your laptop or smartphone (even though GloriousMe offers lots of other interesting articles and tips) and get out, because it’s cherry blossom season.
